With the holiday season on us, it is advisable to check your caravan and motorhomes are safe. Modern Motorhomes, lodges, Caravans both Touring and statics come fitted with domestic quality gas appliances. To comply with the law and to minimise risk to your safety all gas appliances must be fitted in accordance to the current gas safety requirements.
Gas systems are checked for leaks and all gas appliances are turned on to check they are working properly, along with a CO carbon monoxide room test should be carried out during the annual service. The NCC (National Caravan Council) have a list of all their approved workshops nationally, where the staff are qualified to carry out these checks.
These annual gas safety checks are becoming a requirement for the insurance on your motorhome. Holiday parks now require that all privately owned Static Caravans are annually checked for gas safety.
